Paul “DJ Utau” McMahon has been bringing energy, music, and unforgettable karaoke moments to events since 2007.
He first cut his teeth as a casual DJ with Atmosphere DJ’s, before stepping into the spotlight as a karaoke host with Star Trax Karaoke—where his natural stage presence and crowd connection quickly became his trademark.
Years later, while simply attending the weekly Sunday show at the Sunshine Coast’s longest-running karaoke venue—O’Malleys Irish Pub, Mooloolaba—Paul’s talent didn’t go unnoticed. He was recruited by Mark Feiderlein to join Go Pro Vocal Karaoke, where Paul’s drive to grow the brand was clear from day one. He created the business’s Facebook page to boost exposure and worked hard to expand the business beyond its original O’Malleys residency.

As a host, Paul is known for being engaging, welcoming, and effortlessly fun—while also being a standout performer in his own right. With a versatile voice and a huge range of songs, he brings the rare combination of confident hosting and genuine musical talent.
Now based on the Fraser Coast, with Hervey Bay as home, Paul has evolved into DJ Utau—with Utau meaning “sing” in Japanese: the singing DJ. It’s a name that captures exactly what he delivers: a fresh vibe of DJing, karaoke, and all-round entertainment—bringing big-show atmosphere to the Fraser Coast region.

Enjoy our services at just $100 per hour for every hour after the initial booking! Additionally, offer a premium lighting package to enhance your experience. Just ask at the time of booking for more details!
